Rajeswari was introduced to music at a very tender age by her mother Smt. Vijayam Ranganathan, who is a vainika and an All India Radio artist.  Rajeswari began her formal music education at the age of seven. She was indeed fortunate to have as her first guru Sri M.A. Venugopal, who was a very dedicated teacher and encouraged her in every way a talented seven-year-old deserved to be.  During her three years under Sri Venugopal’s tutelage, Rajeswari had bagged several prizes in local music competitions. She then won the Government of India National Talent Search Scholarship for advanced training. Her second guru was another dedicated teacher and scholar, Sangeetakalacharya Sri C.S. Krishna Iyer. She pursued another thirteen years of training under Sri Krishna Iyer. At this time, she won several state and interstate level awards, performed widely, and started performing regularly at the All India Radio. She also received training in violin from  Sri Purushothama Rao, Professor of violin at the Palakkad Music College. Meanwhile, she completed her engineering degree course and opted to study further abroad.

While in the US, she performed in various venues in the states of NY, NJ, CT, IL and CA. She currently resides in London, England. She teaches her young daughters Shyamala and Srinidhi.

At present, she continues to receive guidance from Sri P.S. Narayanaswamy.
